Personal artist’s statements I find pretty off-putting and sometimes pretentious. So, needless to say, this is not one of those – simply a description of the type of work I’m exploring. In brief: the work here is only a sample of greater work being explored, work that varies from (mostly) natural light monochrome portraiture to linearity in landscape (not shown below) by way of people in the environment of the English seaside resort (“Scenes from the Seaside – Act I”)

Rainy days at the seaside in Britain have a certain draw both in winter and summer
The light, people and resilience against the almost inevitable rain.
If there’s one consistent theme it’s that of the umbrella
which seems to appear frequently throughout these personal projects,
